Note from Alanda Craft: Cindy says she’s not one who sews, but she has made this lovely rag quilt and I think she has done a great job. I love the colours. Thank you for sharing your rag quilt with us Cindy, and I’m glad you found the tutorial easy to follow.
Rag quilts are so warm and snuggly and they make a great addition to a camper van, caravan, tent etc for when you need extra warmth on a chilly evening. These rag quilts also make lovely gifts for baby showers.
If you would like to make a lovely rag quilt like Cindy’s, here is a link to the tutorial.
You can see that Cindy has finished the outer edge of her quilt with binding. This is a nice alternative to having a rag edge on your quilt.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for all the ideas you’ve shared. I’ve made a few rag quilts for babies, but I’m thinking of other projects. A larger throw blanket, pillows and appliquéd pillows. Can you suggest other fabrics that might work besides flannel? Or, is that the only thing that frays well?
Thank you!
