Readers Project: Ximena’s Psychedelic Crumbs

Note from Alanda Craft: I happen to think that Ximena’s  psychedelic crumbs look great.  I really like the  look of the vibrant, bold colours and they really pop. I can picture these squares being put together with black sashing and a first border of perhaps 1½” followed by a colourful border also made from crumbs or even just a bright contrasting fabric in a solid color. The possibilities are endless. It’s certainly not boring, that’s for real.  I know you have some concerns Ximena but once they are put together you may be pleasantly surprised by the final result. And as you say there is always some young person who would love a quilt or cushion cover in these vibrant colors.

We have a video tutorial and step-by-step written instructions if you would like to learn how to make your own crumb quilt pieces for your quilting and sewing projects. It’s fun to do and you are never quite sure what you are going to end up with.

Ximena Says
I stumbled upon your site by sheer luck and I followed your rules and came up trumps! Now what? I have ten rectangles that I am ambivalent if I like them or not, as I didn’t group them by colour. Maybe I should have. By they are that bad.. I reckon. My problem is how do I join them now? What to make of these? They look a bit psychedelic to me and too young for my home decor. I’m at a loss, please help
