How many times have you been looking for a pretty card for that special friend or family member and just can’t seem to find the right one? Well we have a number of card and envelope templates available in our store that are sure to help you out.

But here is one that is sure to get that WOW response and we have provided a free tutorial to show you how to create it using ScanNCut Canvas.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube on how to make these types of cards, but we have gone one step further and converted the pattern to Brother ScanNCut cutting files. After all why fiddle around cutting out bits of paper with scissors when you have your ScanNcut to do it for you. And we all know it does a fantastic job of cutting out your shapes, neatly and cleanly.

Watch the video tutorial below or scroll down for the written instructions

This video shows you how to create the template .fcm file for the Blooming flower card in ScanNCut Canvas.

Products used in this tutorial:

  • Metallic Markers
  • Zig Two Way Glue Pen

How to assemble the card

Once you have folded the petals as shown in the video, do the following:

  • Place the glue on each piece as shown by the dots in the images below. Place the glue on the tips of the petals, not the entire petal.

I just tried the download and it is working okay. It might have been a glitch so give it another try. The video will explain how to create the flower but if it is not working for you, you can watch it on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/XlcRAF5nMd0

I just made the card and it came out perfectly! Thank you! It was fun to do, I can’t say it was easy because I’m new to the Scan N Cut, especially the editing part, and I learned a lot. Because your instructions were so clear and easy to follow I bought one of your courses for the SNC. I’m looking forward to more adventures in crafting.

I’m sorry Trish we don’t have that function on the site. But maybe you can take screen prints of the instructions you want to download. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Regards, Wanda.

    Hi Alanda,
LLove this pop=up and have downloaded the SVG. There is also mention of a “link” to watch the video tutorial but I can’t find it. I am also one of those people who find it difficult to follow video tutorials as I have a neurological condition.
Thank you for your beautiful inspiration!

Hi Jayne, the video is on the pop-up card page under the heading ‘Watch the Video Below’. It should auto start, and there is an ad at the beginning. Once that finishes the tutorial will start. Thank you for your lovely comment. Cheers, Wanda

I just recently bought the ScanNCut DX and searching for instructions came across this tutorial. Thank you for a great project I will use many times. I used this in my home made Easter cards this year (2020) and made mini flower pop-ups for some purchased cards. As I was gluing in the last bloom it occurred to me that I could have used the ScanNCut to draw the insides of each flower! I am going to try that next time and I am sure using the right pens it will look fantastic. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

It may take a few seconds to load Bev. Just scroll down a bit and then back up and it should appear. If you have an ad blocker then it may prevent if from loading.

Otherwise, you can watch the video on our YouTube channel. Here is the link: https://youtu.be/XlcRAF5nMd0

That’s exactly what you are meant to get Tina. It is an SVG file that you need to convert to a cutting file to use with your ScanNCut. The video will explain how to do it but if you have trouble seeing the video here is the YouTube link: https://youtu.be/XlcRAF5nMd0
