Here is an easy Jelly Roll Quilt top that you will find quick and easy to do. It’s ideal for your first Jelly Roll quilt as we use straight seams to attach the strips to each other instead of the usual 45° angle.
Now this method is usually called a Jelly Roll Race quilt but we take our time so it’s more of a Jelly Roll slow jog. We like to untangle the strips before we sew we find it makes it easier for us.
We used a Paradiso by Kate Spain for Moda Jelly Roll to make this quilt and we are so happy with the result.
The finished size of the brown jelly roll quilt (pictured below) measures approx. 72″ x80″
- Jelly Roll quilt top – 54½” x 62″
- Border 1 – 3″
- Border 2 – 6″
What you Need:
- 1 Jelly Roll
- Border 1 – 5/8 yard
- Border 2 – 1 1/3 yard
- Backing – 4½ yards
- Batting – 4½ yards
- Binding – ½ yard
